Founded in 1987, Rowmark is the leading manufacturer of extruded sheet materials servicing the engraving and custom decorative markets. The company's products include a comprehensive portfolio of materials ideally suited for signage and other laser, engraving and digital print applications. Now, after 25+ years in their current facility, RCM Architects, Inc. was asked to design for their growth and expansion needs.
Designed to be a 78,000 sq. ft. facility, Rowmark's new World Heaquarters will include production, warehouse and finished office spaces. This will be the new hub of Rowmark's engravable sheet division's operations, warehousing and administration. Their existing facility will continue operating as the manufacturing hub for the company's custom division, PMC (Premier Material Concepts).
The new facility will feature office and conference room space for all the company's executives and staff. Two massive material extruders, research and development labs, and finished product storage are the features of the manufacturing portion of the plant. Finally, designer stations and showrooms will work in concert to show off their finished product lines in front of clients and guests.
The exterior of the building will feature an eight-truck-dock for delivery of raw products and shipment of finished products. Adjacent to the dock, two large silos will store raw materials critical to their production lines. Truck traffic has been separated from guest and employee parking to improve safety across the site. The landscape plan for the development will feature large, colorful, rectangular-shaped planting beds, meant to mimic large sheets of their plastic products.
Construction began in the late summer of 2014, and is expected to be completed in 2015.
